From the factory floor to your cloud — explained
A Wiman gateway is a small, rugged computer that sits at the edge of your network. Here is exactly what it does between your sensors and your screens.

What happens to your data, step by step
Acquire at the source
The gateway acts as a Modbus RTU master on RS485 and a Modbus TCP client on Ethernet, polling meters, PLCs, transmitters and Wiman I/O cards on a schedule you define.
Map & normalise
Raw registers are mapped to named tags with engineering units, scaling and data types — so a kWh is a kWh everywhere, not register 40087.
Buffer & decide at the edge
Readings are time-stamped and buffered locally. Edge triggers evaluate thresholds and conditions, raising alarms or events the moment they happen — even before the cloud sees the data.
Publish securely
Data is published upstream over MQTT/MQTTS or HTTP/HTTPS to one or two servers at once. SSL/TLS and certificate-based auth protect it in transit on PRO and MAX models.
Arrive without gaps
If the network drops, store-and-forward holds the data and replays it in order when the link returns. Your dashboards, SCADA and reports stay complete.
Edge intelligence, not just a pipe
A Wiman gateway does real work at the edge — so your platform receives clean, named, reliable data, and your site stays protected even when the link is down.
Multi-protocol polling
Modbus RTU + Modbus TCP downstream, concurrent serial and Ethernet field buses.
Tag mapping & scaling
Per-register scaling, units and data types resolved at the edge, not the dashboard.
Up to 3000 tags
Scales from a single panel to a large multi-feeder plant on one device.
Store & forward
No data loss through outages — buffered locally, replayed in order.
SSL & dual-server
Encrypted publishing to primary + redundant endpoints on PRO/MAX.
Edge triggers & alerts
Threshold and condition logic raises events and SMS/alarms locally.
A documented stack, end to end
Because we own the firmware and the protocol, every layer is documented and consistent across the whole range — from a LITE gateway to the flagship MAX.
