MQTT / MQTTS

The cloud transport for connected industry

MQTT is the lightweight, publish-subscribe protocol that moves device data to the cloud at scale. Every Wiman gateway publishes telemetry to your MQTT broker — AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, HiveMQ, Mosquitto or your own — with TLS encryption and dual-server fail-over on PRO and MAX models.

Where it is used

  • AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT
  • Self-hosted Mosquitto or HiveMQ brokers
  • Manufacturing dashboards (Grafana, ThingsBoard, Node-RED)
  • Edge-to-on-prem data lakes with MQTT bridges

How Wiman supports it

Publisher (client) · QoS 0/1 · TLS optional

  • JSON and CSV payload templates configurable per gateway
  • TLS 1.2 / SSL with certificate-based authentication
  • Dual-server publishing on PRO and MAX — primary + redundant broker
  • Configurable topic structure, client-id, keep-alive and reconnect
  • Store-and-forward: messages buffered locally during broker outages

Integration tip

For Azure / AWS, generate per-device X.509 certificates and use TLS 1.2 on port 8883 with topic structure aligned to your IoT Hub naming.
